Coaching Investments for Team Coaching/Consulting

Develop a Championship Culture That Players Believe In and Own

No other culture on planet earth can compete with the culture of working in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment. Coach Dave not just served in it but learned what "right" and "elite" looks like and how a cohesive, driven team with shared core beliefs can propel an organization.

What he harnessed from this Special Operations unit, he later applied to build or re-build organizations he led so that their culture and level of performance and execution was unmatched compared to his peers.

Great team culture does not happen by accident. Coach Dave collaborates with coaches to either build or sharpen it (culture) through a Championship Culture & M.V.P. Process framework centered on the team's development of their Mission, Vision, and Principles.

This coaching and facilitation helps elevate your program so that clear standards, core priniciples, and strengthened accountability is developed. If the coach allows, ideally, this is primarily a player-led process so the culture is not just coach-led, but truly created and owned by the team. Not just for a season but create or sharpen your program's culture as a legacy program.

Offered in person (depending on distance) or virtually, this work is designed to improve alignment, buy-in, and consistency on and off the field. Versions of this process have been incorporated by highly successful NCAA Division I programs including FSU and LSU softball, and Oregon, Texas A&M, TCU, Texas, Coastal Carolina, and Oklahoma baseball programs.

This program is geared for high school, travel, and collegiate programs.

Set up a free discovery call with the scheduling button at the bottom of this page to connect with Coach Dave to discuss in detail about this team consulting process and if it is right for your program.

Ideally, this process occurs before your season starts.

"Separation Is In Your Preparation" (SIIYP) Program

The SIIYP Program can truly be the catalyst to educate, equip, and energize your players and program this season and beyond.

Your athletes have put in the reps.  They stayed late, showed up early, and committed to getting better physically.

But when the game, meet, round, or match day arrives — when the pressure rises, adversity hits, and the moment matters — what separates the athletes who rise from the athletes who fade?

It is not just physical.

It is mental.

The SIIYP Program was built for the student-athlete who is talented, driven, and ready to develop the mental skills required to compete with confidence, consistency, and composure.

Developed by Coach Dave Weinberg, MPM, founder of Sua Sponte Performance, this 6-session (approximately 60-75 minute each) mental performance program teaches athletes the tools, concepts, routines, and mindset needed to prepare, respond, and perform better when it matters most.

But here is the key:

This program only works when the athlete does the work.

SIIYP is not a motivational speech. It is not passive listening. It is a structured mental performance curriculum built around learning, applying, and owning the strategies that help athletes compete at a higher level. These are the same coaching techniques taught to many D1 and professional athletes.

Across 6 focused sessions, athletes learn 20 teaching concepts covering the mental side of sport — including focus, confidence, resilience, self-talk, discipline, emotional control, routines, and performing through adversity.

More importantly, those concepts are paired with more than 30 actionable steps — practical mental performance techniques or strategies athletes are expected to implement in training, competition, and daily life.

The athletes who simply hear the information will gain awareness.

The athletes who apply and own them will separate.

They will separate from the old version of themselves. They will separate from competitors who rely on talent alone. They will separate because they built habits, routines, and responses that hold up under pressure.

While this is an online group program via Zoom, Coach Dave provides the Coach(es) worksheets, ChatGPT generated Mental Performance assessment questionaires, and impactful 6 Page Book Summaries from Brian Johnson's Heroic Philosopher's Notes of several related Mental Performance books for the athletes. These short book summaries can serve as a small group learning and student-led leadership opportunity (outside of the the online program) so your teams can discuss their takeaways and how they plan to apply what they learned towards their mental game or how what they learned will better develop team cohesiveness.

How much you, as the coach or athletic director want your athletes to work through actionable worksheets that ask them to create and customize different rountines and habits of excellence is up to you.

For the athlete, this is their edge. Physical training helps earn the opportunity. Mental training helps determine what the athletes do with it.

For the Coaches and Athletic Directors, this is a program investment in more than your sport. The habits built through SIIYP — preparation, focus, resilience, accountability, discipline, and emotional control — are life skills that extend beyond any season or scoreboard.
